The province has established an end date for the inquiry into how officials responded to claims of sexual abuse in Cornwall.

Closing submissions are to be finished by the end of February and Commissioner Normand Glaude is to hand in his report by next July.

The inquiry began in 2006 to examine how officials dealt with allegations of sexual abuse -- the existence of a pedophile ring was among the more sensational allegations.

A police probe subsequently led to 114 charges against 15 men, but there was just one conviction.
