Elementary teachers will stage a one day strike at schools with the Upper Canada District SB this Thursday, December 20th.

The Elementary Teachers Federation gave its notice of strike action today.

Unlike other boards, the Upper Canada District Board will keep its schools open during the strike.  Officials with the board say many parents would be unable to find alternative arrangements and will need to drop off their children for the day.

Parents are asked to register with the school if they plan to send their kids to class.

There will be a variety of activities available to students who attend school.

The Teachers’ Federation advises the Board that children will be allowed to cross the picket lines on Thursday.

Every school Board in Ontario is expected to experience a one day strike before the Christmas Break.
