A man driving a dump truck that was struck by a train in Perth, this morning, escaped with only minor injuries.

Ontario Provincial Police say the collision occurred around 3:30 a.m., Monday morning. The dump truck was crossing the tracks on Wilson St. when it collided with an oncoming CP Rail freight train.

The driver was taken to hospital.

Traffic on Wilson and Drummond St. had to be rerouted as firefighters cleaned up a minor diesel spill from the truck.

The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
