Police have charged a 47-year-old man with impaired driving causing death after a 22-year-old Cornwall woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 138 late Wednesday night.

Ontario provincial police say the collision happened at South Stormont Township when a northbound GMC pickup truck collided with a southbound Toyota at 11:15 p.m.

Police say Heather Saaltink was pronounced dead at the scene. Her two passengers, Emma, 20, and Rick Saaltink, 54, suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Cornwall Regional Hospital.

Robert Young, the driver of the pickup truck, sustained minor injuries in the crash. He faces several charges and is being held in custody until he appears in Cornwall court.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.
