A 27-year-old Gatineau man is facing drug trafficking charges after the RCMP raided his residence on Tuesday evening.

Cocaine, a semi-automatic handgun, more than $30,000 in cash, a money counting machine, and other items allegedly obtained through criminal means were seized from a Saint-Rene Boulevard residence by the Mounties and Gatineau police.

Patrick Lapointe is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.

He appeared in Gatineau court on Thursday. Additional charges may be laid, according to the RCMP, who began their investigation in July.

Another person was also arrested and is scheduled to appear in court, but no further details have been released.
