An elderly Ottawa woman has been charged in a serious motorcycle crash that critically injured the Ottawa Senators' team doctor last summer.
Dr. Donald Chow, who is an orthopaedic surgeon in Ottawa, was injured when his motorcycle slammed into a vehicle on Fisher Avenue in late August.
Chow was thrown several metres and rushed to hospital with severe head and chest injuries. He continues to recover from those injuries.
Although Chow's been back around the team for a few months, it's not in full capacity.
Ottawa police charged Lois Thomson, 73, on Monday for making an unsafe turn under the Highway Traffic Act.
