Ontario Provincial Police charged a 58-year-old man with careless driving after he was spotted eating chicken and controlling the steering wheel with his knees.

Police say the driver was caught when he tried to pass an unmarked cruiser on Highway 417 at about 6 o'clock Tuesday night.

The officer in the cruiser reports seeing the driver with a white bowl on his lap, eating rotisserie chicken as he drove with his knees and grabbed the steering wheel occasionally.

Police say he was speeding, following another vehicle too closely, and occasionally weaving in and out of the eastbound lane he was driving in. He was also seen changing lanes without signaling.

Michael Gibson is charged with the offence and was fined $490.
