An east Ontario dentist facing charges for a fatal drunk driving crash is free on bail Friday, a day after she was arrested for breaching her bail conditions.
Forty-seven year old Christy Natsis wiped away tears in an Ottawa courtroom as she was freed on bail, a day after she was caught by an undercover OPP officer inside a downtown Ottawa LCBO.
Her bail conditions said that she could not purchase, possess or consume alcohol.
The well-known Pembroke dentist is charged with impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death and having a blood-alcohol level over .08 causing death in the March crash that killed 50-year-old Bryan Casey.
The father of three was driving home to Ottawa from work in Chalk River when his car got into a head-on collision, killing him instantly.
Natsis' conditions also said she could not operate a motor vehicle, and Friday a justice of the peace added that she cannot be in an establishment where alcohol is served or sold.
She will face the breach of probation charges in about two weeks, then stand trial for the drunk driving charges in November 2012.
