A 72-year-old driver is dead after a fatal collision closed parts of Highway 17 near Chalk River, west of Ottawa.
Ontario Provincial Police say Patricia Harvey, of Deep River, was killed when her Ford Focus collided with a westbound pick-up truck at about 10:15 a.m. Thursday. The collision happened just east of Chalk River in Laurentian Hills Township.
Harvey was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers in her vehicle.
The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were both sent to hospital to be treated for minor injuries. They are both from Timmins, Ont.
Parts of the highway near Deep River were closed for most of the day. The highway re-opened just after 5 p.m.
