A 37-year-old cyclist in Leeds County is recovering from serious injuries after he was allegedly struck from behind by a 90-year-old motorist.

Ontario Provincial Police say Balazs Kovacs was travelling eastbound on 1000 Islands Parkway east of Kerry Point Road in Leeds and Thousand Islands Township when he was allegedly struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon.

The cyclist was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The 90-year-old motorist was not injured in the collision. Police say their investigation continues.

Leeds and Thousand Islands Township is located about 55 kilometres east of Kingston.
