Gwang-An Bridge in Busan.

Seoul may be the capital city of South Korea, but the city that many fall in love with here is Busan. I'm smitten! It's the second largest city in Korea and is the largest port city in the country.

Busan offers a mix of cosmopolitan hotels and restaurants by the beach, beautiful temples, seafood markets (including the LARGEST seafood market in Korea), and a buzzing nightlife. The Busan International Film Festival was also happening during our stay; it's the largest film festival in Asia.  Most importantly, Busan is home to the United Nations Memorial Cemetary, and the Canadian Memorial Statue, commemorating Canada's contributions to the Korean War.

Busan 3

First stop: Jagalchi Market.  The biggest seafood market in South Korea; packed with people, lively vendors, and of course, tons of fresh seafood.

Jagalchi Market is also where you HAVE to try live octopus, or "sannakji" - it's tasty, but make sure you chew!

Then it was off to see the beautiful Haedong Yonggungsa Temple (East Ocean Drangon Palace Temple).
