Justine Chaput and Santana Hubert say they're lucky to be alive after their vehicle went airborne over a massive crater on Round Lake Road.

The two Pembroke area women were driving along the road early Saturday morning when they thought they hit a pothole.

Instead, the car went airborne over a washed out section of the road which resembles a large crater.

A vehicle following them also went airborne.

A third vehicle ended up at the bottom of the crater.

One of the occupants of that vehicle was sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The County of Renfrew says that section of Round Lake Road in cottage country will be closed for at least a week.

The road was washed out after a beaver dam collapsed and caused flooding.

Claudia Cautillo will have a full report on CTV Ottawa News at 6 pm.
