A Fairhill Crescent fire on Saturday morning has severely damaged the bungalow it enveloped, forcing the family inside to flee as it caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage. The cause is still unknown.
The bungalow at No. 15 went up in flames around 4:30 a.m., according to Ottawa police, starting on the rear deck and then spreading onto the roof and through the attic.
Firefighters extinguished the flames, leaving the house with $125,000 in building damage and $50,000 in contents damage.
Officials say the house is still livable. An investigation continues.
