Police say a 52-year-old Cornwall man is dead after he was struck by a van while walking on a sidewalk in the eastern Ontario city Wednesday afternoon.
Police say Jacques Touchette died after he was hit by a van that was backing out of a driveway in the area of 2nd Street East between Amelia and Adolphus in Cornwall at about 1 p.m.
Touchette was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Michel Levesque, 59, has been charged with failing to yield from a private driveway.
