CORNWALL, Ont. - Two men from Cornwall, Ont., are among a half-dozen people indicted in the murder of a New York state man.

U.S. authorities say the six men allegedly beat and shot Daniel Simonds in his upstate New York home in May.

Simonds later died in a hospital in Vermont.

The group reportedly planned to rob Simonds of his Canadian-grown marijuana and some cash.

The indictment was filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in Syracuse, N.Y.

Twenty-one-year-old Chad Edwards and 23-year-old Anson Edwards, along with three New York state men and a Quebec man, could face up to 20 years in jail and a $250,000 fine.
