Cornwall police are asking for the public's help to determine where a Cornwall man may have been in the days leading up to his death.

Police were called in to investigate after a man's body was discovered in a small wooded area in the heart of the city near the Seventh Street extension on Tuesday.

Const. Brenda MacIntosh said the body was found in the woods in a busy area of the city near the back entrance of a St. Hubert restaurant and the Ramada Inn on Brookdale Avenue.

The man has since been identified as 34-year-old Jean Godard, of Cornwall. Police are waiting on autopsy results to determine his cause of death.

At this point, the death is not considered suspicious, said MacIntosh. However, police are asking anyone who has information about Godard's recent activities to contact investigators at 613-933-5000.
