CORNWALL, Ont. - A man from Cornwall, Ont., has received a house arrest sentence for a deadly crash that killed two people four years ago.

Jacques Thauvette will serve two-years-less-a-day in his Cornwall home and will have to perform 240 hours of community service.

He is also banned from driving for 10 years and will have to complete three years probation following his sentence.

The October 2004 crash north of Cornwall killed 31-year-old Stephane Landriault and 53-year-old Emile Chretien of Cornwall.

A third person was injured after Thauvette tried to pass a truck on Highway 138 but he sideswiped the vehicle and hit an oncoming car.
