Health Canada is asking people to check their Christmas lights after a massive recall of seasonal lights over this month.

The recall concerns holiday lights sold widely in Canada under various labels. They were sold at retailers including Michaels, Wal-Mart, Loblaw’s, Shoppers Drug Mart, Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, and Dollarama.  Health Canada says they may overheat, catch fire or lead to electric shocks.

Health Canada says more recalls are still possible before Christmas, so people should check its website before Christmas and before they put lights up again next year.
