Ontario Provincial Police say charges are pending against an 18-year-old driver after a motorcyclist was killed in a collision on County Road 18 in South Dundas, south of Ottawa.

Police say the early stages of their investigation reveal the motorcyclist was struck when a driver pulled out to pass another vehicle, striking the motorcyclist who was travelling in the opposite direction at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Robert Edgerton of Morrisburg, Ont.
