The City of Ottawa has granted the SuperEx financial relief, waiving a $600,000-fee for using the land at Lansdowne Park as organizers prepare to move the exhibition to a new location.

"This is probably the last time that they need any help," said Coun. Bob Monette prior to the vote on Tuesday.

"They already have some land for the future. They're willing to move, they're just not ready yet. So all they're saying is: ‘help us."

The SuperEx will operate out of Lansdowne Park for the last time this summer. Organizers are currently preparing to move the exhibition to a new location on Albion Road, near the Rideau Carleton Raceway.

The city is expected to move forward with the redevelopment of Lansdowne Park when city council holds a final vote on the Lansdowne Live proposal in June.
