The City of Ottawa has confirmed Dr. Isra Levy as its new medical officer of health.
Levy had been serving as the city's acting medical officer of health since the sudden resignation of Dr. David Salisbury earlier this year.
Levy first joined city staff in 2006 as the associate medical officer of health.
His most recent accomplishment was brokering a compromise on the City's needle exchange program.
