Child released from CHEO after apparent dog attack

A child was released from the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario after undergoing treatment for an apparent dog attack near Cornwall.

It's not clear at this point exactly where the attack took place.

Both the Mohawk Akwesasne police and the St. Regis police are involved in the investigation.

Grant Chief Mike Mitchell says it appears the youngster was attacked by at least one animal Wednesday afternoon.

He was then airlifted to CHEO. The boy was released by mid-afternoon on Thursday.
