Following a death in the Thousand Islands township that Brockville police deemed suspicious, a 41-year-old was charged with second-degree murder and assault in relation to the passing of his housemate, Ontario Provincial Police said.
Gary Douglas, 46, died of head trauma on Friday morning shortly after he was brought to Brockville General Hospital. A postmortem on his body took place at the Ottawa General Hospital yesterday.
Douglas lived at 43 Larue Mills Road in Leeds, the same address listed for the accused -- Louis Johnston, who appeared in court on Sunday by video and was remanded into custody.
