The Ottawa Police Service has charged a lone male in connection with a pharmacy robbery.

On Friday August 9, 2013, at approximately 5:45 pm, a lone male entered a pharmacy situated along the 500 block of Rideau Street. The suspect, known to pharmacy staff, asked for Fentanyl patches but was advised to leave the premises. The suspect returned a short time later, pushed his way into the pharmacy dispensary, retrieved a quantity of Fentanyl, and began to leave. A struggle ensued with a pharmacist at which point some of the product was dropped. The suspect fled the premises with an undisclosed quantity of the drug. The suspect was located a short time later, in the area, by responding patrol officers. The suspect, having already reportedly ingested some of the drug, was transported to hospital for treatment. He was released on Sunday August 11, 2013.

No weapon was seen and there were no injuries.

Stephen Turner-Davis, age 51, of Ottawa, is charged with robbery, breach of undertaking, and possession of a Schedule I substance. Turner-Davis was remanded into custody and appears in court next on August 12, 2013.
