Ontario Provincial Police have laid charges against the driver of a double decker Megabus involved in a serious crash on the 401 near Lancaster, Ont. this summer.

On June 23, the Megabus collided with the rear of a westbound tractor-trailer. Several passengers were injured.

Police say four seriously injured people were taken to hospital after the crash en route from Montreal to Toronto.

Paramedics and firefighters tended to many of the injured on site, and nineteen people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

About 45 passengers were on the Megabus travelling along 401 just west of the border between Ontario and Quebec at the time of the crash.

64-year-old Gary Graham of Lombardy, Ont. has been charged with careless driving.

He is due in court in Cornwall on January 26.
