CFRA news anchor passes away suddenly
Loved ones and colleagues are mourning the sudden death of CFRA News Anchor Lauren Davis. She was 24.
CFRA staff along with other Bell Media colleagues are mourning the sudden death of one of our own.
CFRA News anchor Lauren Davis has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 24.
In a note to staff, Peter Angione, Director of News and Information Programming for Bell Media Ottawa said, “Our deepest sympathies go out to Phil, Lauren’s family and the many colleagues here who knew her so well... Lauren will be deeply missed.”
Lauren and her husband Phil had a baby boy named Colin last year. No information was immediately available about Lauren’s cause of death.
“Lauren’s sudden passing was a shock to our CFRA and Bell Media staff here in Ottawa,” Bell Media Ottawa Regional Vice-President Richard Gray said in a statement. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Lauren, who had just become a mom in the last year. We also want to extend our deepest sympathies to Lauren’s husband, Phil Shirakawa, who is a producer with us here at CFRA. Lauren will be deeply missed by her family and the many colleagues here who knew her so well.”
