Residents of a west Ottawa condominium are angered by a string of car break-ins in the parking garage of their building.

The break-ins began on Friday at 20 Chesterton Drive. By the end of the weekend, nearly thirty cars had been targeted.

Residents say their condo board and building managers didn't tell them about the robberies.

"Since this happened Friday and Saturday, they should have put a notice up or something saying, ‘Take your valuables out of your car' or ‘Keep an eye out for suspicious things,'" said resident Alan Farant. "But nothing like that happened."

Many residents found their car windows smashed and possessions stolen.

The president of the condo board said they didn't warn residents because they didn't think more robberies would occur after the initial ones on Friday.

He said that they're now taking steps to make sure nothing like this happens again.
