Just when everyone thought world junior hockey fever had descended on Ottawa, Team Canada's win Friday night only proved the interest is getting hotter.

Fans are still coming down from opening night - and already awaiting the next win after the Canadians hammered the Czech Republic 8-1 before 19,622 at Scotiabank Place.

The arena's stands were a little quieter Saturday during an open Team Canada practice, as the team prepared for a Sunday afternoon tilt with Kazakhstan.

Even players from abroad, in town for the Bell Capital Cup, are picking Canada to win a fifth consecutive gold medal in the IIHF tournament.

Why? "Cause they're better," said Luke Kirwan of the Syracuse Stars.
