A young woman has a bystander to thank for saving her life after she was found at the bottom of a pool with no vital signs Sunday afternoon.

At around 1:20 p.m., an 18-year-old woman was swimming laps underwater in her apartment complex pool on Walkley Road when her friend noticed she was not moving at the bottom of the deep end.

The woman's friend, who could not swim, called for help. A man who also lived in the apartment complex jumped into the pool, pulled the woman out and found she had no vital signs.

Luckily, the man was trained in CPR and began to resuscitate her. After about one minute of CPR, the girl began to regain consciousness.

Paramedics transferred the woman to hospital where she is in stable condition.
