Bus parked at OC Transpo depot destroyed by fire

Ottawa firefighters extinguished a fire that fully engulfed a parked bus outside an OC Transpo depot on Thursday afternoon.

Ottawa Fire Services say they were called to the OC Transpo Industrial Garage at 745 Industrial Avenue, near St. Laurent Boulevard, at approximately 1:55 p.m.
The bus was awaiting maintenance outside the garage when it caught fire, according to an emailed statement from OC Transpo spokesperson Katrina Camposarcone-Stubbs.
A picture sent to CTV News by a viewer shows flames pouring out of the rear of the bus.
Ottawa fire confirms it was not in service at the time and there were no injuries.
"We thank Ottawa Fire Services who quickly arrived and extinguished the fire," OC Transpo said.
The fire was put out shortly before 2:20 p.m.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
