The OC Transpo driver who helped passengers get on his bus during Ottawa's first major snowstorm will get a reward for his good deed.

In a tweet sent Wednesday morning OC Transpo said the driver in a now viral video will receive "an official commendation."

The recognition comes after a video was posted to Facebook on Tuesday by Ottawa’s Adriesca Julot showing a coatless driver step outside to help passengers step over a large snowbank and into his bus.

"Faith restored in humanity. This bus driver in Ottawa gets out his bus to help his passengers on board. It was an incredible thing to witness. We need more individuals like this gentleman in this world," Julot wrote on Facebook.

Since then, the video has been viewed nearly 400,000 times and has been shared more than 10,000 times.

"This is something that almost never happens to anyone by anyone anymore. Hats off to Mr. Bus driver!," said Mary Lalonde in the comment section.

The driver has yet to be named.
