City of Ottawa staff are repairing a watermain break caused heavy flooding to York Street in the ByWard Market.

Ottawa police closed the street, between King Edward Avenue and Cumberland Street, at about 10 a.m. Saturday morning because of the flooding.

Police say officers are assisting with road closures in the area to ensure public safety and have cordoned off the area.

The city says it anticipates the repairs to be finished by the end of the day.
