Brockville police are investigating after three men allegedly broke into a home with a sawed off shot gun and used duct tape to secure a woman to her living room chair.

Police say the men apparently broke into a home on Hubbell Street at about 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The men allegedly entered the home and said they had a message for the woman's husband, who was not home at the time of the incident, according to police.

Police say the suspects allegedly demanded money and rummaged through the house before fleeing.

After the men left, police say the woman, who suffered minor injuries, managed to free herself from the duct tape and ran across the street to a neighbour's home, where police were contacted.

Forensic investigators were called to the scene where they gathered evidence, and police interviewed neighbours about what they might have witnessed.

One of the suspects is described as a tall man who is between 30 and 40 years old. He has short blondish-brown hair and allegedly brandished a sawed off shotgun.

The two other suspects are described as shorter males with a stocky build. Both covered their faces with a handkerchief or scarf and were wearing dark coloured rain pants.
