It's a done deal now, but there are still sour sentiments over the development of Brockville's prized waterfront.

Tall Ships Landing is a condominium development being built along the shores of the St. Lawrence River.

Anne MacDonald of the Brockville and District Chamber of Commers says it will be a tonic for the Brockville economy.

"These people that are actually going to be residents of the tall ships will be supporting restaurants in our community," says MacDonald. "They'll be purchasing furniture for their condos."

But this is more than a condominium. In addition to residents there will be somewhat of a tourist attraction called "The Maritime Discovery Centre."

It is expected to be a place where tourists and school groups will be able to feel and experience everything from a wreck diver in the river to life in a family of sea otters.

Some residents are far from sold on the idea. Either because they feel it is too big and may ruin the traditional feel of Brockville or because it will block their own view of the river.
