Ottawa police are warning residents of a string of daytime break-ins in the city's south end.

Two males are ringing doorbells "aggressively" and looking for homes where nobody is inside, said police in a news release Friday. If they break in, home alarm systems are being disabled.

If someone does answer the door, the pair has a prepared script that may include asking about items for sale.

Police said they're warning residents to be vigilant and notify police if they see someone suspicious in their neighbourhood.
