A 25-year-old Minnesota man is facing child pornography charges after Canada Border Services found images of child sexual abuse on a laptop during a random search at the Ottawa International Airport.

Ryan Matheson is charged with possessing and importing child pornography. He appeared in court on Monday.

Matheson is the second person to be arrested and charged this year following a random search of laptops at the border.

A Florida man was arrested and charged in January after child abuse images were found on a laptop when he tried to cross the border at the Thousand Islands Bridge, east of Gananoque.

The Canada Border Services Agency says three people, including former Roman Catholic Bishop Raymond Lahey were arrested and charged last year, after searches at the border uncovered laptops that contained images of child abuse.
