The Ontario government's announcement for summer festivals has reduced the grant by more than $50 thousand each for RBC Bluesfest and CityFolk festival.
This year's Ontario grant for both festivals is $247, 500.
Bluefest organizers say in exchange for the decrease in funding, they have a funding committment from the government in place for the next two years.
The two year funding provides more certainty for music programming.
In 2014, Bluesfest received $300 thousand from Celebrate Ontario.
The Ontario government also reduced funding to all successful applicants by 10 per cent this year.
The grants under the 19 million dollar Celebrate Ontario program includes a number of other Ottawa summer festivals including
Dragon Boat, the Ottawa Jazz Festival and Carivibe.
