Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire at a Normandy Crescent residence, in Carleton Heights, that happened while nobody was home.

Firefighters responded to a call at 9:38 a.m. Sunday, says acting district chief Jim Cockran, and had the blaze at 1133 Normandy Crescent under control by 9:55 a.m.

The fire was contained to the first floor and caused $125,000 in building damage and $100,000 in contents damage, he says.

Parts of Normandy were closed Sunday morning as the investigation continued.
