Ottawa police are asking North Gower residents to keep their eyes out and report any more black bear sightings after one was seen in a back yard Saturday morning.
They said they were called to the McCordick Road area in the west Ottawa community after the bear was spotted.
The homeowner’s dog scared the bear back into the woods surrounding the house, and a search of the surrounding area turned up nothing.
Police said any bear sightings should be immediately reported to them so they can help deal with it, urging citizens from trying to manage these matters on their own.
