BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Mike Hoffman struck twice as the Binghmaton Senators skated to a 5-1 win over the St. John's IceCaps on Tuesday in American Hockey League play.

Corey Locke scored and added two assists for Binghamton (22-30-4), while Derek Grant and Pat Cannone had goals of their own.

Ben Bishop, acquired by the Senators' parent club in Ottawa on Feb. 26, made 41 saves to earn a win in his first game with the organization.

Kenndal McArdle was the lone scorer for St. John's (33-14-7). Eddie Pasquale stopped 34 shots for the IceCaps.

Special teams were a problem for St. John's. The IceCaps couldn't score on their seven power plays, while the Senators went 2-for-4 with the man advantage.

Binghamton still sits in last in the AHL's East Division, while St. John's remains first in the Atlantic Division.
