BELLEVILLE, Ont. - A Belleville man convicted in a violent home invasion will be sentenced this fall.
Ryan O'Shaughnessy, 19, pleaded guilty to being unlawfully in a dwelling house in connection with the Nov. 5 incident.
Charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, break and enter and possession of a dangerous weapon were withdrawn.
Court heard O'Shaughnessy and two 17-year-old youths were arrested after several people armed with baseball bats and wearing disguises forced their way into a Belleville home and demanded money.
A male resident was assaulted with the weapons and was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.
O'Shaughnessy will be sentenced Oct. 15.
