OTTAWA - There are reports a bear is prowling in a neighbourhood near an Ottawa school.
Ottawa police are investigating a bear sighting early Thursday afternoon in the area of D. Aubrey Moodie Intermediate School in Nepean.
There are reports that the bear was seen in the neighbourhood on Wednesday evening.
A police officer has been on site and no further sightings have been reported.
Students were going to be taken to their buses by their teachers and students who are picked up were to be escorted to the parking lot.
School board officials say students who walk or ride their bicycles home would be kept at school until their parents can pick them up or give permission for the child to go home.
