A 22-year-old Ottawa man is facing robbery and impaired driving charges after a bank robbery and short police chase in downtown Ottawa on Monday.

Police said a lone male suspect went into a bank in the 2300 block of Ogilvie Road in east Ottawa at 9:50 a.m. Monday.

He pulled out a note demanding money and then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police then got a report of a Lincoln SUV which had earlier been reported as stolen driving erratically down Rideau Street in downtown Ottawa around 11:25 a.m.

Police started a short chase which they called off right before the suspect abandoned the vehicle, striking three parked cars in the process.

The suspect was arrested after a short foot chase.

Ottawa's Kyle Adamski, age 22, is facing robbery, possession of stolen property, impaired driving and dangerous driving charges in connection with these incidents.

He's scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
