An accidental fire at an Aylmer apartment building late Saturday night has left 10 people temporarily homeless.

The blaze began at about 11:40 p.m. in a detached garage at 31 Rue Tiberius. The flames soon spread to the main building's second floor.

The cause and estimated damages have not been determined.

No one was injured, but 10 residents have been evacuated to Red Cross shelters.

Meanwhile, a Buckingham house was destroyed Saturday afternoon in a suspected arson case.

Damage to 995 Ch. Lepine was estimated at $200,000. There were no injuries reported and the owner was not present when emergency crews were called at about 5 p.m.

The investigation is continuing on Sunday.
