Autopsy results confirm foul play was involved in the deaths of a 25-year-old woman and her 11-month-old daughter after their bodies were found in a Carleton Place home over the weekend.

Ontario provincial police say although they are now investigating the case as a homicide, area residents should not be concerned about their safety.

Police say preliminary autopsy results confirm Kerry Walters died as a result of foul play and her daughter Starla died of unnatural causes.

The body of 28-year-old Lennox Walters, Kerry's husband, was also found in Montreal. His death is being investigated by Montreal police.

The family, who moved to Carleton Place from Cold Lake Alta. in April, were reported missing by a family friend on Saturday.

Police discovered the bodies of Kerry and her daughter at a home at 474 Joseph Street on Sunday. During the investigation, police also seized a weapon from the residence.

Police say their investigation is ongoing and ask anyone with information about the activity of Kerry and her daughter to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or 613-257-5610. Police say those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
