BATH, Ont. - Provincial police say a prisoner died of a gunshot wound after guards opened fire March 20 at Millhaven Institution, near Kingston, Ont.

Provincial police say an autopsy determined Jordan Trudeau, 29, died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Guards fired their weapons after several inmates, including Trudeau, attacked another prisoner.

The Joint Forces Penitentiary Squad has concluded there was no criminal wrongdoing by two guards who opened fire during the assault.

Two other inmates, including one who was shot, returned to Millhaven this week after being treated at Kingston General Hospital for serious wounds.
