A 15-year-old girl died Saturday night after crashing an ATV north of Maniwaki, Que.
Jessica Lamoureux left her Grand-Remous home on the vehicle at 4 p.m. but never returned, according to the S�ret� du Qu�bec.
Her family called police at 10:30 p.m. and started to search the area, about 160 kilometres north of Gatineau. Relatives found her body in a ditch about two kilometres from her house.
The girl appeared to have lost control of the ATV before being ejected into the tree. She was wearing a helmet but was not correctly tied on, police said.
Speed is being considered as a likely factor, though no skid marks were found.
