'Assuming a conversation will be had around the kitchen table': G2 driver stopped for speeding on Ottawa road

Two G2 drivers are facing a charge of stunt driving after being stopped for speeding in Ottawa's south end.

The Ottawa Police Service said on Monday, an officer observed a driver going 141 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Limebank Road.

"Not the start to 2025 any parent would want," the Ottawa Police Service's Traffic Escort and Enforcement Unit said on X.

"Assuming a conversation will be had around the kitchen table this evening."

On Tuesday, police said an officer stopped a G2 driver going 158 km/h in the 80 km/h zone on Limebank Road.

"Passing vehicles at nearly double the speed limit in sub-zero conditions is a recipe for disaster," police said.

The charge of stunt driving includes a 30-day licence suspension, and the vehicle is impounded for 14 days.
