TORONTO - One man is dead and another faces charges following a fatal crash that closed the westbound lanes of Highway 401 in Whitby, east of Toronto, for several hours.

Provincial police say all the westbound lanes have now reopened following the crash that killed the driver of a tractor-trailer.

The truck collided with a Jeep and flipped over just after 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The truck driver, identified as 51-year-old Lindsay A. Findlay of Arnprior, Ont., was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver of the Jeep had lost control of his vehicle and was hit from behind by transport, which rolled over and blocked all three lanes of the highway.

The Jeep driver, a 32-year-old Toronto man, was not injured but was arrested and charged with impaired driving causing death .
