A rash of graffiti attacks in Ottawa's south end on Sunday and Monday have prompted police to ask for the public's help.

There were at least 70 different instances of spray-painted gang and anti-police tags, police say, on vehicles, houses, fences and streets in the Trappers Park area near South Keys.

Vulgar slurs targeted Ottawa police's Direct Action Response Team, which focuses on breaking up gang activity.

Those with information should call the police's guns and gangs unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5050.
